Broxtead Estate

Shoot Walk at Broxtead Estate Sponsorship

We are very happy to announce that, as part of our ongoing work and support for the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, we will be sponsoring the Shoot Walk at Broxtead Estate on 19th June at 6:30pm.

Broxtead is a family-run 2,600-acre farming estate on the Sandlands of East Suffolk, with cropping focused around potatoes, onions and carrots. Produce is marketed by 3m’s in conjunction with six other family farming businesses. The rotation also includes cereals, sugar beet, AD maize and outdoor pigs.

Other enterprises include holiday lets, business and office lets, an indoor breeder/finisher pig unit and investment in an anaerobic digestion business. Less than half of the estate is cultivated, making conservation a key part of the day-to-day running, with management focusing on a range of important habitats and species and including stone curlew, dartford warbler, woodlark, silver-studded blue butterfly, ant lion and adders.

The Estate is part of the NE/FC/Defra facilitation scheme currently, including 60 other holdings totalling 54,000 acres and extending from south of Ipswich to Aldeburgh. There has been a family-run shoot on the estate since the Pauls purchased it in 1915.

Tickets for the shoot walk are priced at £20 per person, and the price includes the hog roast. There are 75 places available.

During the walk, we will be: Talking about habitat, looking at game crops and discussing issues like the new fenn trap equivalent. Also, we will have our leaflets and brochures available on our various products and one of our agents will be at the walk to answer any questions on Keepers Choice range of products.
